Introduction
In general, researchers usually argue that a “small” population size could guide the algorithm to poor solutions and that a “large” population size could make the algorithm expend more computation time in finding a solution.
Currently, for AFA, a default value of 2 is used. Values larger than 2 can result in significantly slower performance, but can potentially improve the history matching results (not guaranteed). Higher values are typically reserved for powerful computing systems.
