Map Overlays

The Overlay feature lets you enhance your Interactive Well Maps with additional spatial data. You can choose from:

  • Public Domain Overlays – Provided by the AFA, including field boundaries, license areas, and historical well locations.

  • Private User Overlays – Your own uploaded GeoJSON or Shapefiles, visible only to you and your organization.

This feature is ideal for development planning, field layout reviews, and advanced spatial analysis.

  1. Open the Map – Navigate to the Interactive Well Maps tool.

  2. Select Overlay Source – Choose from the list of available public overlays.

  3. Enable Overlay – Toggle the overlay on to display it alongside your well data.
