Introduction
In work performed by T. A. Blasingame (n. d), a number of PTA and RTA (Production Analysis or PA) were performed on the Arun Gas Field (Indonesia). The general conclusions and results are (shown below are:

(kh)PTA tends to be < (kh)WPA

Systematic differences suggest can also lead to differences in interpretation.
The general rule is that PTA derived KH will be higher than RTA derived KH as random heterogeneity tends to reduce the effective RTA observed permeability. For more information, see examples from Scaling in Reservoir Engineering , and the use of the Equivalent Homogeneous Reservoir Model.
