Gas Specific Gravity

If you compare the density (or Molecular Weight) of a mole of gas with the density (or Molecular Weight) of a mole of air, at the same conditions ( usually standard conditions ), you can calculated gas specific gravity. This is illustrated below:

The molecular weight of a gas mixture is the summation of the products of the individual mole fractions and molecular weights of each individual component.
