Gas PVT Correlations

A basic introduction to gas PVT is presented in this section. For any component or mixture of components that are in the vapour state, we can often use the following equation, often called the “Real Gas Law“ to predict behaviour. As per regular algebra, if one variable is unknown, we can solve for it using the equation.

P = Pressure, psia

T = Temperature, oR

R = Universal Gas Constant

V = Volume, cubic feet

n = number of moles

Z = Gas Compressibility factor
