Field Example: Narrabri CSG Project

Introduction

The Narrabri CSG area is based in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. A common target isthe Bohena coal seam.

In 2010, Eastern Star Gas proposed a tailored well design using multi-laterals as shown below. The well design was to compensate for the anistropic permeability conditions which was extremely severe when compared to traditional coal projects.
