Undersaturation (Dewatering)

Introduction

Dewatering must occur if the initial pressure is not on the isotherm. The figure below shows a sample idealized scenario(s). In this example, the coal is undersaturated and must be depressurized (dewatered) to critical desorption to initiate gas flow. Dewatering is often related to CSG Well Spacing & Completions .
