Blasingame

Introduction

The Blasingame plot is utilized to reduce impact of data noise on interpretation. It is a log-log plot of the following three parameters against normalized time:

1

Normalized Rate

2

Normalized Rate Integral

3

Normalized Rate Integral Derivative

Numerical integration of the normalized Rate integral can produce some anomalous shapes as tDd → 0. We approximate the the qDd values in early time using a power law function. integration of this power law function gives us initial value for qDdi.

for tDd <= tDd0:

now as

we arrive at the following equation for our model curve:

For the data points, we evaluate the first integral using our model curve:

Here, normalized time is defined as

Normalized Time

A simultaneous match of the three curves allows the determination of parameter re/rwa.
