Introduction
According to Scott et al (2023), Arrow Energy primarily uses an SIS drilling technique (trialed initially in the Moranbah North Mine). Initally, the Arrow used a chevron design comprised of two laterals. Typically, a vertical well is drilled first, and intercepted at the toe by a number of different lateral well designs as shown below. And more recenltly, drilling the intercept well as the heel of the well followed by main and branching lateral wells has been documented as improving productivity.
