Below is a MDT analysis ( Bourdet (Well Testing) derivative) of a CSG Well in Australia. The data is somewhat noisy. The time scale is MINUTES.
In this example, some observations are:
-
There are two (2) responses from two different tests on the same well:
-
The tests do NOT show the same response!
-
-
Does one assume the response which potentially shows a radial response as correct? or should the analyst try to determine what has caused the difference between the two responses.
-
It is possible that observed radial flow period (shown in Green) is not real, and the other response (shown in Blue) is appropriate.
-
Since there is only about 100 minutes of data (or 1 to 2 hrs), it is possible that radial flow has been established?
-
MDT (or similar) tools are often dominated by spherical flow. Refer toWireline Formation Testing (WFT) for additional information.
